How do I remove the AquaClic?

Unscrew the AquaClic in a counterclockwise direction, decalcify if necessary, e.g. with «Durgol». Alternatively, wrap the AquaClic in a wet cloth and carefully unscrew it – without damaging the surface – with a pair of pliers.

The black adapter is stuck in the faucet?

The AquaClic's universal adapter comes with several notches:
  • Insert the edge of any coin into a notch
  • Then just unscrew the adapter as if you were using a screwdriver. You can still not remove it?

Nosed pliers

The universal adapter doesn't have any notches. What do I do?

If your adapter is tightly attached to the faucet:
  • You can unscrew it with a hex wrench, a so-called "Allen wrench, 14mm"
Don't have a hex wrench? You can insert the following into the hexagonal opening:
  • the rear end of a clothespin
  • a small hammer
  • a small foldable yardstick
  • or insert long nosed pliers into the adaptor, brace them apart and use them like a screwdriver.

If there are any problems, just contact us.

Important: you only need to gently screw in the AquaClic by hand – not tightly – to ensure that it won't get stuck (even for several years!). The adapter forms a tight seal very quickly. Also, to prevent it from becoming stuck in the first place, unscrew it every time you decalcify.

Cleaning and decalcifying

Wassersparer entkalken You can clean AquaClics with all commercially available cleaning and decalcifying products, which will keep them looking great for years. Note: do not use cleaning vinegar or abrasive materials, e.g. steel wool.
  • Give your AquaClic, either assembled or unscrewed, a short soak (e.g. in Durgol), or soak overnight (e.g. in salad vinegar).
  • Rinse off all parts, if you need to you can dislodge any residue with a brush.
  • Screw everything back together per the illustration above.
If the filter is clogged (Figure 5 below or above):
  • Pry off the «impact protector» with a sharp object, e.g. a thin knife (be careful not to injure yourself!).
  • Thoroughly rinse all parts, using a brush if necessary.
If the regulator is clogged (Figure 4)
Examine it closely: if small particles are stuck in it, blow on it strongly to dislodge them.

If necessary, replacement parts can be found in the online store.

If your faucet leaks...

Falls der Wasserhahn tropft

it might be because:
  • the topmost washer (1) is missing for a faucet with inner thread
  • the internal washer (3) is missing
  • there's an old washer inside the faucet preventing the AquaClic from being screwed in all the way.
Is the faucet dripping with, or without, the AquaClic?
  • In some cases, the AquaClic's low flow rate can cause a faucet that's dripping just a bit to drip a bit more.
This is usually caused by a worn-out washer in the tap, which your janitor or plumber can quickly fix.

If the AquaClic won't screw on correctly and pushes away:

AquaClic an Hahn mit Innengewinde
  • Make sure there are no more washers inside the faucet
  • See whether you can screw in the AquaClic and the adapter (2) without the top washer (1). If so, the water will trickle out a bit, but we'll send you a thinner washer that will fit and seal the faucet tightly.
